Terra Nullius is no more. What is next for us?

Terra Nullius is ground zero for our new projects. There is a larger one, but currently it is called “Cultural Warfare with Jon Croft” while the larger one is called “Media-Moses”. Terra was a podcast in which a co-host was never found, and as the creator of Terra, I considered it my duty to do my best to get it off the ground. Now all I can say was that this was not to be. Since 2020 my focus has changed to some degree, and in many ways the pandemic taught us all about where society is going wrong- where we were ALL going wrong in how we were relating to society and government. For me it was actually to reduce my intellectual and academic discussions and move to entertainment & media. Yet, the opposite lesson is what many got from it. This is fine with me… let me explain.

So, where do I stand on this change? For many, I believe they think that power must be regained by the people, and that democracy has been only a skinsuit worn by authoritarians, but what they don’t know is that “yes while this may be true” they should know that this has been the case for a very, very long time. I think what the people have lost isn’t power, but understanding. It isn’t strength, but pointing that strength in the right direction which has been the problem. People have been lied to in churches, in schools, in institutes of higher learning, in social institutions, in banks, etc. Our society has been slowly transformed by a “progressive group-think” in our institutions. I don’t seek to speculate on “who” this may be and this is where I depart from many. It’s gone way past “blaming” a few rotten individuals. It’s been true that in the past I said that this kind of theorizing is a good thing, and I stand by this sentiment, but now I see that the issue is far worse than we believed, and this means the solutions are limited. We have little time and room for the luxury of speculation. This was for the instance in which mounting a coordinated effort against bad ideas was a possibility. No, these errors have wormed their way into our religious & cultural thinking.

So what is my solution to something so devastating to our society? It’s simple but it does require some understanding and acceptance. When you really want to convince someone of something you must follow three rules, and none of them have to do with breaking my religious beliefs regarding social upheaval. In my belief, hatred is never acceptable. Jesus himself was the example of this, as he forgave the very people engaged in murdering and crucifying him. So, what are these three rules for convincing others?

The Three Rules

1. You must stop being critical. Critical Theory is the very tool of these corrupting institutions. It is hyper-critical of anything they do not like, meaning it doesnt seek to understand how the world works, but instead it seeks to criticize in effort to destroy, not rebuild or befriend. It is like a teenage girl that says everything is “yucky”. They have a hyper-sensitivity to challenges and to difficult lessons. They do not seek to work at change or trying harder. In our society, this stage of development for a child has been extended into the college years and beyond. Until this “hyper-critical” stage of growth is satiated it will never go away. So, the solution to this is not criticism of the critical, but positivity about what is good, and for the most part ignoring what is useless and bad. Be critical of the mean high school girl all you want, but you just played into her demented game of negativity & hate-posting online. She will continue to get a dopamine rise every time she hates on you in return. This is simply a cycle of dysfunction you both just created. Ignore her negativity and exude confidence and positivity about what YOU’RE DOING instead.

This works well into my business model here at Cultural Warfare but most assuredly at the larger Media-Moses project, as marketing projects which promote and integrate the efforts of many into a new, unified community. Positive Promotion is the rule. More will be discussed on this later.

2. Understand that religion and culture are upstream of legal systems, so they are much more important. They influence the legal philosophy by which your government functions and they influence social norms and all social institutions. We made the mistake of centralizing our culture in the Hollywood and NYC elite, and beginning to centralize religious institutions under the larger denominations and academic accrediting bodies that can guide the theology of a great number of denominational churches. Thankfully, America has a great tradition of very decentralized Protestant institutions, but this is waning under social movements such as the new political ideas coming out of our schools.

It used to be that churches helped raise youth, and by necessity influenced our educational institutions, of which parents made sure. Additionally, when agriculture was a larger influence on our social institutions, self-reliance and decentralization were natural forces in play, because they literally came from a person’s connection with nature. This, being filtered through a lens of their local decentralized church body, was of added value. Now this is virtually unheard of and farming communities are a waning minority suffering under metro-sexual city people who no longer recognize the farmer’s value.

But its not just farmers. Any kind of creator marketplace can be seen this way. Either you are helping form a greater independence and self-reliance in your community, or you are literally breaking down the walls of your own town, exposing it to being dismantled and shipped down river to the slave-traders. And you’ve likely been doing this because the fabric of a good community no longer seems to exist where you live. If you don’t see this value in your community, this is why you expose it to destruction. Nevertheless, what you are doing is still wrong. Building up your community, instead of betraying it, should be understood as the better option, but political and academic institutions don’t exactly teach this, instead teaching some version of “Critical Praxis” instead.

So, build. Do not destroy. Build culture, not “political solutions”.

3. People who are often insular, closed-off to outsiders and intrepid raiders is what remains. Their skepticism is admirable, but the problem is that they can’t mount a counter-offensive and do not understand the battlefield. These are not traditional battles, and not kinetic violence, but instead, this deals with spiritual and mental discernment, which must be applied not just to create strategies, but also to craft narratives to help your children fight these same battles as they come of age to be ready to protect their own families when its their time. This is myth-making and the crafting of legendary folk tales to help transmute values on to your children. The Bible and many fairy tales do this very well. It’s what they are constructed to do, so studying them is of primary importance if you seek to actually build culture. And this is where we get to the root of it.

Participating in myth-making is what builds culture, just like it’s what builds religion. CS Lewis called the Bible the only myth that is actually true, speaking from a historical perspective. And if it is historically correct, maybe then we can see that it has spiritual, metaphysical truth pregnant within it as well. Our myths taken separately from the Bible (such as a fairy tale like Little Red Riding Hood) don’t need to have happened in history for it to transmute social, spiritual, emotional, intellectual truths. But it does mean that the Bible may have a special place as a cornerstone or mothership of mythical power that informs and rebukes those lesser narratives that may arise later. Like a Constitution of true culture, when something resonates with it or violates these fundamental values we see, it overrides the small authority it may have had in culture, helping it “go big or go home”.

So, you see, without this participation in culture-building its not a repudiation of your “taste” or your worldliness that will come from others, but a question of if you even understand your own culture. This is a fatal blow, and this is what you do not want. So this call must be answered to participate in culture. Storytelling. News. Repackaging of your myths, legends, folktales, and fairy tales is not just incidental or fun, but necessary.

Find your local artist who can reflect your values. Understand that as they create they engage with culture. They defend the ramparts of the walls that protect your community. Without them you are sunk. So defend them and support them while they are building because media is very expensive today. Build relationships with them. Let them know you have their backs, and you aren’t giving up the war.

We are now on Rumble

We've been preparing to be able to livestream here on locals & rumble, so this has taken some time because we wanted to get our YouTube up first and get videos going.

Mission accomplished!

Today I am writing the Media Moses Monthly Address, so this limits my video work today, but I am uploading to rumble now, which may be a better video link to use here on Locals since they are somewhat integrated. This ought to also make it easier for me to use rumble studio to do livestreams. We will see.

I love the YouTube platform, but I've also always known that I should hold them at a distance. My attempt is to really draw more Youtubers over here to the rumble/locals ecosystem. In a way they are both a back up for each other, in case the other fails. Who knows, I might even end up starting an Odysee or a Zion account to put my videos on a third platform to prevent any of it being lost. Who knows?

As it is you can checkout my Rumble on https://rumble.com/user/CulturalWarfarewithJonCroft
